New Years Eve Party Outfit + Makeup Look

Hey everyone! New Year's Eve is right around the corner and it's that time of the year when people are busy shopping for the perfect New Year's Eve party outfit. Here is an outfit that will give you inspiration for your outfit!
NYE Party Outfit

Velvet has been a huge trend recently! I think this blue velvet crop top paired with the silver sequin skirt is a perfect festive outfit. You will definitely stand out and sparkle in a crowd. The motorcycle jacket looks really good over the top and adds a edgier detail while also keeping you warm.

Fake eyelashes will add a lot to the look and make your eyes pop. Kohl eyeliner is also a great makeup staple for a New Year's Eve party look because it's easy to smudge around your eyes to add a more dramatic look. A dark blue smoky eye would look nice with this outfit also! If you decide to do a dramatic eye look, then you should definitely keep the lips simple by swiping on a layer of nude or pink lipstick so your makeup isn't too overpowering.

Of course add some festive nail polish and spritz on some perfume and you should be all ready for NYE!

Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a great NYE!

Outfits of the Week: 1st Week Back to School | Week in My Life

I have survived my first week of my high school junior year! Yayy! One of the biggest changes from sophomore to junior year is having 8 classes all at once. Before, I would have 4 classes the first semester and then a whole new set of 4 classes during the second semester. Now all my classes are every other day throughout the whole year. Not only will this mean more tests, homework and studying, but it also means having to just remember my schedule... which is actually quite difficult. I keep forgetting what class I have next and whether the class is on an A-day or B-day. Hopefully my schedule will start to stick with me once I get more used to it!

I liked all my classes for the most part, and I knew a handful of kids in each class which was great!

Now on to my outfits for the first week...

MONDAY
I always try to look my best on the first day of school. I have many reasons why I like to do this. One reason being that I usually feel my best when I wear something that I like or look good in. When I feel my best, I am usually more confident and make friends easier than if I had worn an outfit I didn't like. I also like dressing up on the first day because it can be a conversation starter. If you don't know many people in your class but someone walks up and compliments you on your outfit, then you can always start up a conversation with them! A conversation about a shirt can easily turn into a conversation about your favorite TV shows or interests!

My classes on Monday were IB Math, IB Spanish, IB History of the Americas and IB Business Management. I also had to go to homeroom for about an hour and a half every morning for the entire week. I didn't have much homework on the first day, besides signing a bunch of contact/information forms for various teachers.

TUESDAY
As you can tell by the picture, a day has gone by and my floor is already getting to be a mess. Since my classes are all every other day, Tuesday was like my second first day of school. It was my first time being in my B-day classes.

My classes on Tuesday were IB Biology, IB Theory of Knowledge, IB Psychology and IB English. I liked all of my classes and all of my teachers for the most part.

After school I worked from 4 to closing. The store actually closes the doors at 8pm, but we have to do a bunch of work after. There were a few people that stayed in the store after 8, which was pretty annoying. One customer actually complained to us about how a lady at her store stayed until midnight. She ended up being the last customer in the store and finally left a little bit after 8:30. I ended up leaving the store at 9:20, which is pretty late for a school night considering I had to wake up at 5:45 am the next morning. I actually gave in my notice on this day too because I knew working and ding school would be way to stressful. I definitely think I made the right decision!

WEDNESDAY
Today was a very busy day! I had all the same classes that I had on Monday. In my classes, we kept talking about the classroom rules and syllabus... all the usual boring stuff that's covered in the first few days.

After school, I went with my sister to her hair appointment. After that, we went to Target to find school supplies, which they were out of. We ended up just going home without any supplies because I was late for tutoring. I tutored my neighbors, who are in elementary school for about 30 minutes. Then my sister and I went back out to pick up dinner and scrounge around for school supplies. We looked in Walmart, and I bought some binders, paper and pencils. I need binders for every class, so my backpack is going to be soo full and heavy during the year!! Walmart didn't have composition notebooks however, so we had to go to Harris Teeter. There was only one composition notebook left, and my sister and I both needed one, so we had to take one that was on their school supplies display. Next we picked up dinner at Five Guys and brought it home. I love Five Guys and it's one of my fave fast food places by far.

After dinner, I had to call a student that is in the same club as me and work on some club presentations and projects. Then I helped my parents ready the house for my sister, who was going to have a major surgery the following day.

THURSDAY
On Thursday I didn't feel like dressing up for school, so I decided to stay comfy in a t-shirt and shorts. I usually dress down once a week for school, especially when it's super hot outside and I don't want to wear jeans. Today I had all my B-day classes again. During homeroom I worked on a video for my club that we will be airing over the morning announcements next week.

After school I tutored the kids in my neighborhood. It rained a lot this day so my soccer practice was canceled. My sister stayed overnight at the hospital because of her jaw surgery. She only had to stay overnight one time, and then she could come home.

FRIDAY
Today was the last day of my first week back to school! I finished my club video in the morning and then I went to all my classes. My teacher actually brought me and another club officer coffee! I noticed my car tires were looking a little flat this morning so I checked on them between classes. They got worse throughout the day and the huge tropical storm that was coming our way didn't help. I don't know too much about cars so I didn't really know what to do. My teacher actually gave me quarters so that I could get my tires pumped at a self-serve gas station. I went with my friend after school, and we (attempted) to pump air in the tires. A really nice lady actually helped us and told us what to do! Without her we definitely would've been stuck at the gas station for a long time trying to figure out what to do. Thankfully I made it home safely!

4 Outfits for 4th of July ♡

Hey guys! I’ve put together a few different looks that are fourth of July themed! I tried to incorporate a lot of red, white and blue (colors of the American flag if you didn’t already know) and a lot of stars and stripes into the outfits. Whether you’re out with your friends watching fireworks or going to a neighborhood barbecue, these looks will have you covered. I hope you guys find some inspiration from these looks when you are putting together your own outfits! Do you guys have any fun plans for 4th of July? If so, comment them down below!

Look 1
fourth of july outfit

I think this outfit is super cute and laid back. I think it would be perfect for watching fireworks in at night or going to a family barbecue. The off the shoulder white shirt also makes this outfit look more bohemian. I love the trend of tie up sandals and I think these ones would be super cute! They are also very versatile and could be dressed up or down.

Look 2
fourth of july outfit 2
Hat / jean jacket / dress / earrings / lipstick / shoes / nail polish / bag

I think this outfit looks super comfortable and effortless. This dress is super flowy and seems very soft. I think adding the jean jacket to this dress makes the outfit more casual and cool. I also love the look of red lips for fourth of July! It's very bold and matches the theme of red, white and blue.

Look 3
fourth of july outfit 3
Shirt / necklace / bag / jeans / watch / blue and silver bracelet / red bracelet / blue bead bracelet / wallet / key chain / shoes

This look is more fancy and chic. It would be perfect for a more fancy brunch, lunch or dinner. This might be one of my favorite looks in this post, because I think the off the shoulder denim top trend is so cute!!! The silver hardware and jewelry dresses this outfit up and looks great with red and blue. It also reminds me of silver stars!

Look 4
fourth of july outfit 4

Now this outfit is hardcore patriotic. It's like the American flag just hits you in the face. There is so much going on with this look and it would look crazy if you wore it any other day except fourth of July.

*Bungalow 123 Dress Review & Try-On ♡

*This picture was taken from the Bungalow 123 website*

Bungalow 123 website // https://bungalow123.com

Hey everyone! I would like to thank Bungalow 123 because they were kind enough to send me the Shaw dress in Fuschia for me to write a review of. Bungalow 123 is based in Texas and sells clothing and accessories, as well as vintage home decor. I first stumbled upon this boutique on Pinterest and found that they sold extremely cute clothing and jewelry on their website. They also offer free domestic shipping, so all you readers living in the states are in luck! Continue reading to learn more about my thoughts and opinions on the Shaw dress and to see the dress modeled on me!

I was so excited when I saw this package in the mail! The dress came with a cute sticker attached to the package. I also got a sweet letter from them also which was super nice of them.

The Shaw dress is a t-shirt dress and is shorter on the sides and longer in the front and back. It comes in multiple different colors, but I think fuchsia is perfect for the summertime. It's such a fun, vibrant color that will make any tan pop! I received this dress in a size small, which is similar to a size 0-4. The dress measures 35" from shoulder to hem in the front and back and 31" on the sides.

This dress is super flowy, and the material is soft and comfortable. I love pairing this dress with wedges and wearing my black bralette from Urban Outfitters under it. One of my favorite things about this dress is the different length on the sides and the front and back, so your leg peeps out on the side. I think this lengthens your legs and makes you appear taller. I also really like how you can dress it up or down, depending on the look you are going for. This is a perfect summery dress and I can't wait to wear it out with my friends or out to dinner! It would also be a perfect dress to wear to work... I just got a job as a sales associate at a women's resale clothing store!

Life Update: Acai Bowls, Hanging out at a Park, New Haircut + More ♡

Hey guys! These past few weeks have been super busy. I haven't done a life update blog post in a long time, so I thought it was a good time to do one. I got my first summer job a few weeks ago at a women's resale clothing store. I love working there because the store is always super busy so I am never bored. It's also like I can shop while I'm working. Whenever the employees see something we like, we can put it in the back and buy it later on an employee discount. Last Thursday, June 16 I had the day off, so my friend and I decided to get acai bowls. We went to a food truck called Rico's Acai, which is located downtown. I got the rainbow bowl, and I love how it's aesthetically pleasing and also yummy. It's also super healthy and the fruit is always fresh and tasty.

After we got our acai bowls, we drove to Romare Bearden Park. We found a parking spot right near the park, but we had to parallel park. Unfortunately, neither my friend nor I knew how to parallel park so parking proved to be pretty tricky. What made matters worse was that we were parking right on a busy street. My friend was driving and she ended up backing in and out of the space about 50 times and wasn't really moving positions much at all. At one point I even got out of the car and tried to direct her into the space. We finally got into the space (10 minutes later). We brought my two dogs with us to the park which became a hassle because they kept pulling the leashes and barking at everyone. Above is a picture of my dog Robin.

This turned out to be one hilarious outing. My other dog, Ollie decided to pee on my friend's Birkenstock shoes right as we sat down on our blanket at the park.

Here is a picture of Ollie looking guilty for peeing in her shoes.

I ended up finishing my acai bowl. My friend's bowl melted a little bit and she decided not to finish it. Two dogs were walking past us and my dogs went berserk. Robin tried to run towards the other dogs and ended up knocking over my friend's acai bowl all over my blanket. The food also went all over my friend's phone, car keys and sunglasses.

It was definitely an interesting experience going to the park with my dogs, and I have come to the conclusion that I will not be taking my dogs anywhere public anytime soon.

List of things that got ruined by my dogs
-Birkenstocks (friend's)
-Blanket (mine)
-Car Keys (friend's)
-Sunglasses (friend's)
-Phone (friend's)

Overall, more of my friend's things got ruined than mine. We were able to clean everything which was lucky!

We also decided to bake cookies. This turned out to be sort of a disaster. We didn't have all of the ingredients and then the cookie dough we made ended up being way too powdery. The recipe we found didn't include any liquids other than butter and eggs. We added a few tablespoons of water to make it stick together. We also made the cookie dough balls too big so it took forever to bake. The outsides got extremely hard but the insides weren't ready to be taken out of the oven. The cookie turned out to be pretty good, except for the fact that you had to bit super hard on the outside.

I also got a haircut last Monday on June 13. I got about 4 inches cut off and my hair felt extremely lightweight after. Since I have layers in my hair, the pieces of hair by my face are shorter and the pieces in the back are longer. I usually don't like when I get a haircut because I like when my hair is really long. I do like my hair at this length though, because it doesn't get as tangly and frizzy.

Tips for Accessorizing: Stacking Bracelets ♡

Long time no write! It's been a crazy few weeks with Spring Break, midterms and projects, but I am back with another post. Here are some tips for accessorizing with bracelets and stacking them!

When I pair bracelets together, I pick 3 or 4 main colors to focus on. When picking my bracelets, I try to stick to these colors, so they will match and complement each other. The bracelets usually are other colors too, but I find that as long as most of my bracelets have one of the main colors then they will match. I also try to pick bracelets of the same style, such as the ones above that are cute and fun. I picked bracelets that were more casual with beads. My last tip is to pick bracelets of similar sizes to pair together. I find this tip extremely important, because when one bracelet is bigger than the others, it tends to slide over the smaller ones and get tangled up over them. You don't want to keep messing with them and fixing them the whole day!

Casual St. Patrick's Day Outfit, Makeup and Hair Look ♡

Here is a fun outfit that is perfect for a St. Patrick's Day party or if you just want to be more festive! This outfit incorporates a lot of green and is more casual and laid back than the other outfit I put together in my previous post. I hope everyone has a lucky St. Patty's Day! ♡

Earrings- Party City
Bracelets- JCPenney
Stickers- Party City
Sneakers- Nordstrom
Socks- Overstock
Necklace- Party City
Phone Case- Cafe Press
Long Sleeve Shirt- Etsy
Leggings- Calvin Klein
Headband- Kirklands
Oil Blotting Sheets- Sephora
Mascara- Bobbi Brown
Lipstick- Smashbox
Purse- Michael Kors
Foundation- Urban Decay
Primer- Clinique
Bronzer- Lorac
Eyeshadow- NYX
Eyeliner- YSL

This outfit is pretty crazy and out there, but it shows a lot of spirit for St. Patrick's Day. You can add fun inexpensive decorations to your look such as stickers, headbands, earrings, plastic bracelets and necklaces. I suggest getting these things from a party store, such as Party City because you can usually find a lot of cool stuff that's really inexpensive. Since this is a casual outfit, I would wear my hair in a loose pony tail or bun, with some pieces hanging out to frame my face. You should keep a clean looking face with a lightweight foundation and adding some shimmery bronzer. Finish the look with a swipe of red lipstick, which will look great with all the green.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post and found inspiration for your St. Patrick's Day look!

Fancy St. Patrick's Day Outfit, Makeup and Hair Look ♡

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner- March 17th! I usually don't celebrate or do much on St. Patrick's Day, but I wear a little pop of green sometimes. I have put together a look that is St. Patrick's Day themed. I think this kind of look would be great if you are going out to eat and just want a few little subtle pops of green without going all out. It's pretty sophisticated and chic, and the outfit won't hurt people's eyes when they look at you, because it incorporates darker greens! ♡

Bracelet- Alex & Ani
Necklace- Dogeared
Makeup Bag- TopShop
Lipstick- NARS
Jeans- TopShop
Phone Case- Michael Kors
Eyeliner- Clarins
Foundation- Too Faced
Mascara- Lorac
Perfume- Jo Malone
Primer- Smashbox
Eyeshadow- Urban Decay
Bronzer- Lorac
Brow Gel- Anastasia

I think this outfit is perfect for St. Patrick's Day, because it looks like a regular outfit, but still throws in some green spirit! You can add small little clover accessories and other lucky symbols. For the makeup, I think it's great if you throw in a red lip color, because red and green compliment each other perfectly (they are complimentary colors after all!). You don't want to have too much red mixed in with your green, because that will look too Christmasy. Green eyeliner will also be a nice pop of color, and the silver eyeshadow will make your eyes stand out even more. For hair, I would do a loose messy ponytail or curl it!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed the post and found inspiration for your St. Patrick's Day look!

OOTD: 2.20.16 ♡

Here is my outfit of the day from 2 weeks ago. I went out to lunch with two of my friends at The Cheesecake Factory, and we went shopping at the mall afterwards! ♡

Necklace- Baked Beads
Sweater- Tex by Max Azria
Skirt- Zara
Boots- Forever 21

I think this outfit is perfect for the Winter/Fall time, because the colors are darker and the sweater will keep you warm if its cold outside. I got this skirt at the airport on my way home from my trip to London. It's super cute, and feels like a suede material. I also like how it has buttons in the middle of the skirt, which reminds me of the 80's and 90's when button down skirts were popular.

Moisturizer- Lancome
Primer- Pur Cosmetics
Foundation- Rimmel London
Setting Powder- Laura Mercier
Bronzer- Wet n Wild
Highlighter- Becca
Eyeliner- Essence of Beauty
Eyeshadow- Too Faced
Mascara- Benefit
Eyebrow Pencil- Anastasia
Eyebrow Pomade- Anastasia
Eyebrow Gel- Anastasia
Eyelash Curler- Revlon

I ordered my favorite food ever- pasta!

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great day :)

OOTD: 2.17.16 ♡

I hope everyone had a great extra day to their year, since 2016 is a Leap Year! I took these pictures about a week ago of my outfit of the day (OOTD). It was really nice where I lived on this particular day, so I wore a summery shirt, but made it Winter appropriate by adding a jacket and ankle boots. Enjoy! ♡

Necklace- Brighton
Bracelets- Alex & Ani
Shirt- Anthropologie
Jacket- Nordstrom BP
Jeans- Ann Taylor Loft
Boots- Forever 21

I really like this outfit, and I think it is perfect for warmer days in Winter. I think wearing more summery tops with winter or fall jackets looks great, and you can get more wear out of your clothes!

Face Moisturizer- Andalou Naturals
 Primer- Pur Cosmetics
Tinted Moisturizer- Laura Mercier
Concealer- Wet n Wild
Setting Powder- Laura Mercier
Bronzer- Wet n Wild
Bronzer- Bobbi Brown

Eyebrow Pencil- Anastasia Beverly Hills
Eyebrow Gel- Maybelline
Eyelash Curler- Revlon
