My Week in Outfits | NYC Trip

Hey everyone! I recently traveled to New York City over Winter break with my family. I wanted to share with you the outfits that I wore while I was there! I definitely had to dress in layers most days because it was pretty cold there. I will also be posting some of the photos I took while I was in New York in another blog post soon!

12.25.16

On this day we flew from NC to NY in the afternoon. This is my traveling outfit and Christmas dinner outfit. My tunic is from Nally & Millie (similar), my scarf is from Calvin Klein (similar), my leggings are from Lululemon and my shoes are from Forever 21 (similar).

12.26.16

On this day we went to the Met and did more exploring of NYC. I am wearing a grey sweater from American Eagle (similar), jeans from Topshop, shoes from Adidas (color navy), and a jacket from BCBGeneration. I wore this jacket everyday because it's super warm and has down in it. The purse I'm wearing is from Rebecca Minkoff.

12.27.16

On this day we went shopping and walked on the High Line and saw the Rockettes. My shirt is from a resale store called Buffalo Exchange (different color here), and my jeans are from Topshop. I also wore my boots from Forever 21 (similar) and my Purse from Rebecca Minkoff.

12.28.16

On this day I forgot to take a picture of what I wore. I wore a grey sweater that I got from a small boutique (similar here), black leggings from Lululemon, and my boots from Forever 21

12.29.16

I wore two outfits on this day because it rained a lot, so I had to change into dry clothes for the rest of the day. I am wearing a blue sweater from American Eagle (similar), a plaid scarf from Gap, black leggings from Lululemon and my Forever 21 boots.

I changed into this pink sweater (similar) that I had recently bought in Times Square. I also wore my Topshop jeans, and Forever 21 boots.

12.30.16

On this day I walked around NYU. I wore this white sweater from Anthropologie, black Lululemon leggings and the same boots.

12.31.16

Today I left NYC. I tried to keep my outfit comfortable so I wore a dust pink hoodie from American Eagle (on sale!), leggings, Adidas shoes (color navy), and my jacket from BCBGeneration.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you all had an amazing Winter break!

What to Wear to a Holiday Party

Hey everyone! Today I am going to share with you an outfit that I put together. It's perfect for a holiday party or going to the theatre. You can also add tights if you live in a city that is cooler. I hope you find inspiration from this look for your own holiday party look!
holiday party outfit

Crushed velvet is a huge trend this Winter, and I think a velvet dress makes any outfit more glam. I also think gold and burgundy are beautiful, festive colors for the Winter. This gold velvet dress is so pretty and the white soft jacket will keep you warm while also looking super stylish

Liquid eyeliner is a perfect makeup staple because it makes your eyes pop. False eyelashes will also make your eyes pop and make them appear more open and dramatic. You can never have too much highlighter, and this one from Laura Mercier is extremely stunning. Liquid lipstick is also a must have, especially when you are going to be drinking or eating food. Liquid lipstick is designed to keep your lip color staying on your lips all day, without transferring or smudging off.

You can top off this look with a nice smelling perfume and some cute accessories, like the choker and the ring!

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you all have a great holiday!

Outfits of the Week: 1st Week Back to School | Week in My Life

I have survived my first week of my high school junior year! Yayy! One of the biggest changes from sophomore to junior year is having 8 classes all at once. Before, I would have 4 classes the first semester and then a whole new set of 4 classes during the second semester. Now all my classes are every other day throughout the whole year. Not only will this mean more tests, homework and studying, but it also means having to just remember my schedule... which is actually quite difficult. I keep forgetting what class I have next and whether the class is on an A-day or B-day. Hopefully my schedule will start to stick with me once I get more used to it!

I liked all my classes for the most part, and I knew a handful of kids in each class which was great!

Now on to my outfits for the first week...

MONDAY
I always try to look my best on the first day of school. I have many reasons why I like to do this. One reason being that I usually feel my best when I wear something that I like or look good in. When I feel my best, I am usually more confident and make friends easier than if I had worn an outfit I didn't like. I also like dressing up on the first day because it can be a conversation starter. If you don't know many people in your class but someone walks up and compliments you on your outfit, then you can always start up a conversation with them! A conversation about a shirt can easily turn into a conversation about your favorite TV shows or interests!

My classes on Monday were IB Math, IB Spanish, IB History of the Americas and IB Business Management. I also had to go to homeroom for about an hour and a half every morning for the entire week. I didn't have much homework on the first day, besides signing a bunch of contact/information forms for various teachers.

TUESDAY
As you can tell by the picture, a day has gone by and my floor is already getting to be a mess. Since my classes are all every other day, Tuesday was like my second first day of school. It was my first time being in my B-day classes.

My classes on Tuesday were IB Biology, IB Theory of Knowledge, IB Psychology and IB English. I liked all of my classes and all of my teachers for the most part.

After school I worked from 4 to closing. The store actually closes the doors at 8pm, but we have to do a bunch of work after. There were a few people that stayed in the store after 8, which was pretty annoying. One customer actually complained to us about how a lady at her store stayed until midnight. She ended up being the last customer in the store and finally left a little bit after 8:30. I ended up leaving the store at 9:20, which is pretty late for a school night considering I had to wake up at 5:45 am the next morning. I actually gave in my notice on this day too because I knew working and ding school would be way to stressful. I definitely think I made the right decision!

WEDNESDAY
Today was a very busy day! I had all the same classes that I had on Monday. In my classes, we kept talking about the classroom rules and syllabus... all the usual boring stuff that's covered in the first few days.

After school, I went with my sister to her hair appointment. After that, we went to Target to find school supplies, which they were out of. We ended up just going home without any supplies because I was late for tutoring. I tutored my neighbors, who are in elementary school for about 30 minutes. Then my sister and I went back out to pick up dinner and scrounge around for school supplies. We looked in Walmart, and I bought some binders, paper and pencils. I need binders for every class, so my backpack is going to be soo full and heavy during the year!! Walmart didn't have composition notebooks however, so we had to go to Harris Teeter. There was only one composition notebook left, and my sister and I both needed one, so we had to take one that was on their school supplies display. Next we picked up dinner at Five Guys and brought it home. I love Five Guys and it's one of my fave fast food places by far.

After dinner, I had to call a student that is in the same club as me and work on some club presentations and projects. Then I helped my parents ready the house for my sister, who was going to have a major surgery the following day.

THURSDAY
On Thursday I didn't feel like dressing up for school, so I decided to stay comfy in a t-shirt and shorts. I usually dress down once a week for school, especially when it's super hot outside and I don't want to wear jeans. Today I had all my B-day classes again. During homeroom I worked on a video for my club that we will be airing over the morning announcements next week.

After school I tutored the kids in my neighborhood. It rained a lot this day so my soccer practice was canceled. My sister stayed overnight at the hospital because of her jaw surgery. She only had to stay overnight one time, and then she could come home.

FRIDAY
Today was the last day of my first week back to school! I finished my club video in the morning and then I went to all my classes. My teacher actually brought me and another club officer coffee! I noticed my car tires were looking a little flat this morning so I checked on them between classes. They got worse throughout the day and the huge tropical storm that was coming our way didn't help. I don't know too much about cars so I didn't really know what to do. My teacher actually gave me quarters so that I could get my tires pumped at a self-serve gas station. I went with my friend after school, and we (attempted) to pump air in the tires. A really nice lady actually helped us and told us what to do! Without her we definitely would've been stuck at the gas station for a long time trying to figure out what to do. Thankfully I made it home safely!

2 Gossip Girl Inspired Outfits From Serena & Blair (Back to School Edition) ♡

*This blog does not own this picture. It was taken from Pinterest!

Hey elites! It's Thea here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite. Someone so kindly sent me this picture of S & B (otherwise known as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf) getting ready for school. As you can see in this picture, they are looking seriously unhappy about this new school year coming up... they'll be more annoyed when they see that I've leaked more of their secrets out in the open for you all! It's going to one hell of a school year for these too. Will they spend their days having study sessions with Dan and Chuck, or will they instead be up all night dancing on table tops and getting in more drama? We'll just have to see...

You can read my last posts here if you want more fashion secrets from these two:
Lunch Date outfits: click here
Shopping outfits: click here

Here are a few more secrets on how to steal their back to school outfits on a budget you can afford!  This will definitely help if your school dress code is as strict as these girls'. Keep reading to learn how you can steal their style! Sorry S and B, more secrets are out in the open.

Serena's Outfit

serena school outfit
Shirt (on sale!) / skirt / heels (on sale!) / vest / bracelet (on sale!) / neck tie / purse

Serena's back to school look is cute and casual like usual. She wears her school uniform very laid back and fun, by tying her neck tie low around her neck and wearing a vest over her shirt. She makes her school look more feminine by wearing a mini plaid skirt and nude heels. If you don't own nude heels then I highly recommend buying them- they will make anything more dressed up! Serena wears a fun snakeskin print handbag too that really makes her outfit look unique and different- everyone at her school is going to be wearing snakeskin this year now that Serena has started this trend!

Blair's Outfit

blair school outfit
Blouse (on sale!) / skirt (on sale!) / heels / neck tie / scarf / bracelet / headband / purse

Blair is back at it again with a chic and sophisticated look- this time for back to school. She adds a parisian chic flair by tying a silk neck scarf around her neck over her neck tie. She keeps it classy with a pearl bracelet and then wears fun shoes to spice it up a bit. She also wears an oxblood colored handbag, which she can carry all her school assignments (or not) in.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this Gossip Girl inspired post :)

And who am I? That's another secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO.

2 Gossip Girl Inspired Outfits From Serena & Blair (Lunch Date Edition) ♡

*Picture used from https://www.styl.sh/articles/838-blair-waldorf-serena-van-der-woodsen-s-best-summer-outfits

Hey elites! It's Thea here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite (or into the boring life of a high school blogger). There's been another spotting of S and B (otherwise known as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf) out and about. As you can see in this picture, they are happily coming out of their favorite little lunch spot in Manhattan, looking as carefree as ever... they won't be after I'm through with them (letting their secrets out of course). They thought they could get a break from me over the Summer now that schools out- think again!

So many of you enjoyed my last post about these two beauty queens, so I thought I would let you in on a few more secrets on how to steal their outfits on a budget you can afford! Keep reading to learn how you can steal their style! Sorry S and B, more secrets are out in the open.

Serena's Outfit
serena outfit 2
Shirt / skirt / necklace / shoes / bag / bobby pins

Did Serena and Blair coordinate their outfits, because they both look perfect for this summer! They both have pops of green in their outfits- I'm definitely looking green with envy at them! I love Serena's comfortable and simple look, as she pairs a green short skirt with a tank. I also am obsessed with her hairstyle. It's actually quite easy- just put your hair in a ponytail, leaving out a section of hair. Then take the section you left out, wrap it around the ponytail and bobby pin it in place. It's as easy as that!

Blair's Outfit
blair outfit 2
Headband / necklace / dress / bracelet / bag / shoes / belt / ring

Blair (as usual) looks very feminine, classy and sophisticated in her floral dress. I love how she added the headband to add a fun vibe to her look. She's also carrying a woven straw handbag that looks like a picnic basket if you ask me. It's very festive for the summer though!

4 Outfits for 4th of July ♡

Hey guys! I’ve put together a few different looks that are fourth of July themed! I tried to incorporate a lot of red, white and blue (colors of the American flag if you didn’t already know) and a lot of stars and stripes into the outfits. Whether you’re out with your friends watching fireworks or going to a neighborhood barbecue, these looks will have you covered. I hope you guys find some inspiration from these looks when you are putting together your own outfits! Do you guys have any fun plans for 4th of July? If so, comment them down below!

Look 1
fourth of july outfit

I think this outfit is super cute and laid back. I think it would be perfect for watching fireworks in at night or going to a family barbecue. The off the shoulder white shirt also makes this outfit look more bohemian. I love the trend of tie up sandals and I think these ones would be super cute! They are also very versatile and could be dressed up or down.

Look 2
fourth of july outfit 2
Hat / jean jacket / dress / earrings / lipstick / shoes / nail polish / bag

I think this outfit looks super comfortable and effortless. This dress is super flowy and seems very soft. I think adding the jean jacket to this dress makes the outfit more casual and cool. I also love the look of red lips for fourth of July! It's very bold and matches the theme of red, white and blue.

Look 3
fourth of july outfit 3
Shirt / necklace / bag / jeans / watch / blue and silver bracelet / red bracelet / blue bead bracelet / wallet / key chain / shoes

This look is more fancy and chic. It would be perfect for a more fancy brunch, lunch or dinner. This might be one of my favorite looks in this post, because I think the off the shoulder denim top trend is so cute!!! The silver hardware and jewelry dresses this outfit up and looks great with red and blue. It also reminds me of silver stars!

Look 4
fourth of july outfit 4

Now this outfit is hardcore patriotic. It's like the American flag just hits you in the face. There is so much going on with this look and it would look crazy if you wore it any other day except fourth of July.

2 Gossip Girl Inspired Outfits from Serena & Blair (Shopping Edition) ♡

Hey friends! It's Thea here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite (or into the boring life of a high school blogger). S and B (otherwise known as Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf) are out shopping on 5th avenue when they see a not so friendly face (like their expression shows). Luckily they have bottomless trust funds and cute outfits on to make any sane person jealous (trust me, we all are!).

Me being an insider in all things S and B, I can let you in on how to steal their outfits but on a budget you can afford! Keep reading to learn how you can steal their style! Sorry S and B, your secrets are out in the open.

Serena's Outfit

Serena summer outfit 1
Hat / necklace / shirt / pants / belt / ring / shoes / bag

A typical Serena outfit that is 100% cute while also being super comfortable.  I love how you can pair these comfy sweatpant looking pants with a casual tank top and then spice it up with some cute accessories. I am all for Serena's style because she always looks so effortlessly put together. She's the kinda girl that can get the messy bun perfect on the first try (not me who tries 10 times and then decides to do a ponytail).

Blair's Outfit

blair waldorf outfit
Dress / necklace / belt / bag / bracelet / shoes

Queen B always keeps her outfits sophisticated and chic. You can tell that she's the kinda girl who puts a lot of effort into her outfits and it definitely pays off! She always looks classy and girly, which she can afford to do. It's harder to pull off this kind of look when you don't have the budget for the diamonds and the sparkles, however it is still possible.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed this Gossip Girl inspired blog post!

And who am I? That's another secret I'll never tell. You know you love me. XOXO.

*Bungalow 123 Dress Review & Try-On ♡

*This picture was taken from the Bungalow 123 website*

Bungalow 123 website // https://bungalow123.com

Hey everyone! I would like to thank Bungalow 123 because they were kind enough to send me the Shaw dress in Fuschia for me to write a review of. Bungalow 123 is based in Texas and sells clothing and accessories, as well as vintage home decor. I first stumbled upon this boutique on Pinterest and found that they sold extremely cute clothing and jewelry on their website. They also offer free domestic shipping, so all you readers living in the states are in luck! Continue reading to learn more about my thoughts and opinions on the Shaw dress and to see the dress modeled on me!

I was so excited when I saw this package in the mail! The dress came with a cute sticker attached to the package. I also got a sweet letter from them also which was super nice of them.

The Shaw dress is a t-shirt dress and is shorter on the sides and longer in the front and back. It comes in multiple different colors, but I think fuchsia is perfect for the summertime. It's such a fun, vibrant color that will make any tan pop! I received this dress in a size small, which is similar to a size 0-4. The dress measures 35" from shoulder to hem in the front and back and 31" on the sides.

This dress is super flowy, and the material is soft and comfortable. I love pairing this dress with wedges and wearing my black bralette from Urban Outfitters under it. One of my favorite things about this dress is the different length on the sides and the front and back, so your leg peeps out on the side. I think this lengthens your legs and makes you appear taller. I also really like how you can dress it up or down, depending on the look you are going for. This is a perfect summery dress and I can't wait to wear it out with my friends or out to dinner! It would also be a perfect dress to wear to work... I just got a job as a sales associate at a women's resale clothing store!
