Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Beauty Picks 2016 ♡

Hello friends! The 2016 Nordstrom Anniversary sale is open to the public today and will last all the way to August 8th. Nordstrom is having some great sales right now, and today I am going to share with you some beauty picks that I think would be great to pick up if you are in the market for new makeup. Beware- your bank account might not appreciate this sale as much as you will!

If you only want to buy one beauty item at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I would spend your money on a nice palette. Whether it be an eyeshadow or face palette, they are always good deals. You get a bunch of different products all together in a convenient palette and don't have to pay the price of each separate thing included in the palette. Usually the palettes are cheaper than buying all the individual products.

I've always wanted to try eyelash enhancers. My eyelashes are sooo short and applying mascara can become difficult, as well as time consuming. I would love to have eyelashes that are long and full!

I hope you guys find this post helpful and find some amazing deals at the sale! Tell me what you buy!

Clarisonic Brush Head Dupe + Review and Comparison ♡

Hey everyone! So today I decided to do another product review of a dupe or cheap alternative to the Clarisonic Mia brush heads. I am going to compare this alternative with the normal brush head that I received when I got my Clarisonic Mia 2. Usually the normal Clarisonic replacement brush heads cost $27 which is super expensive for a face brush that needs to be replaced every 3 months. I went on Amazon and bought replacement heads from a company called GreenInsync. I purchased the Cleansing 3 Pack and Deep Cleaning 2 Pack both for $12.98. Each brush individually only cost me $2.60 instead of the whopping $27 I would have spent at Clarisonic!

Here is a picture of the new brush heads that I purchased versus my 1 year old Clarisonic one (obviously I was in need of new brush heads). The green brushes are for cleansing and the blue ones are for deep cleaning. The black/grey brush is just normal. The 2 brands of brushes were both similar in size. The GreenInsync brushes had softer bristles that were less dense. I don't think they do quite as good a job cleaning your face as the original Clarisonic ones because they are less dense, so they don't exfoliate quite as deeply or harshly. This would be good is you have sensitive skin.

The brush heads fit right onto my Mia 2 without any trouble. You have to click the piece into the Clarisonic a little differently but it is super easy.

Here is just a comparison of the back of the brushes. The pieces are extremely similar so the alternative one is able to fit to a Clarisonic.

Overall I think these brushes are a great deal, especially if you don't want to dump out about $30 every 3 months on a new facial cleaning brush for your Clarisonic. They are a lot softer and don't rub your face as hard as the originals, thus causing less exfoliation. I do think that these brushes are extremely necessary in getting off any extra dirt or makeup that I have on my face at the end of the day. I'm not sure if I am the only one, but I always find it gratifying when I see dirt or makeup on my brush after washing my face. It lets me know that my Clarisonic is working. If I had decided not to wash my face with it then all that extra grim would still be stuck on my face- gross!

Product Review: Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick Concealer & Color Icon Bronzer ♡

I bought the Wet n Wild Coverall Coverstick Concealer and the Color Icon Bronzer from CVS Pharmacy about a week ago. Wet n Wild is one of the few animal cruelty free makeup brands sold at drugstores. Their products are very affordable, so I wanted to test a few things out. I bought the bronzer for $4.39, and I got the concealer stick for $2.27. Below are my thoughts and opinions of these products! I hope you enjoy and find this useful! ♡

Bronzer-

I bought this bronzer in the shade 739 Ticket to Brazil. It works great for giving my skin some extra color, however I would need to buy a darker shade to contour my face. The bronzer is matte, so it doesn't have much shimmer in it. I also like using this product as eyeshadow, because I think it looks very natural and nice. It is a big product so it should last me a long time, and it's also very cheap- only $4.39. Another good thing about this bronzer is that it has a SPF of 15, so it will give you a little protection from the sun. The downside of this product is that it only comes in 3 shades, but they're pretty universal. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a cheap drugstore bronzer that is animal friendly. This product will add warmth to your face, and you can contour with it if it's a little darker than your skin tone.

Concealer-

I bought this concealer in the shade medium at the drugstore for only $2.27. I'm not a huge fan of this product, mainly because it's not very creamy so it doesn't glide onto the skin smoothly. It's hard to get a lot of product on the skin, because it's so dense. It also only has 3 shades. I do think this product covers up small little blemishes or outbreaks on my face, but I would only use it on a small part of my face. It looks a little cakey, and I wouldn't recommend it for dry skin, just because I found it hard to apply. I had to press very hard on my face to get more product to come off, but for only $2.27, I think the concealer is great for covering up a pimple or blemish here and there.

Animal Cruelty Free Drugstore Makeup ♡

Now that I've started researching animal cruelty free makeup products, I've noticed that they are more expensive than other makeup products. There also aren't many drugstores brands that sell animal cruelty free makeup, so usually you have to buy from expensive brands. I have found a few makeup brands that are from the drugstore (so they're less expensive!), and I have listed some below. I wish there were more big drugstore makeup companies that were animal cruelty free, but sadly there isn't a large variety. I hope you enjoy and find this post useful when you are shopping for new makeup products at the drugstore! ♡

Powder Contour Bronzer- Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer
Eyelash Curler- NYX Eyelash Curler

Tips for Shoe Shopping

-If you know you want to buy shoes from a website, you can sign up for their emails, and that will usually either give you a discount code or free shipping.

-Use your phone as a calculator, and calculate all the discounts of your shoes and the total cost of them, while you are shopping.

-Look at the back of stores, where the clearance or sale section is.

-Refine the price filter on your shoe searches on websites, so your only looking at shoes that are in your budget.

-If you are in-store, make sure to try the shoes on, because no matter how inexpensive they are, if they don't fit, then you're really not saving any money.

-If you are online, make sure to read the reviews of the shoes you are buying to make sure you are ordering the right size and to see how the quality of the shoes are.

-Don't buy something just because it is inexpensive; Make sure you will actually wear the shoes.

-If you like a pair of really inexpensive shoes, then try looking for them on a website that sells new and old clothes and shoes, such as Poshmark or Mercari. You can usually find the shoes cheaper and in very good condition or even new! I have bought things off of this website before, and you can money off your purchase with my referral code! You can get $10 at Poshmark using the code BUWHM, and $2 at Mercari using the code QRNMHB!

-If you buy shoes during their off-season (ex: sandals in Winter) then you can usually find them on sale.

Shoes Galore! DSW Inexpensive Shoe Haul

My sister and I went on a shoe shopping hunt on Tuesday! We had a day off of school due to the snow, so we decided to do a little shopping... We went to DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse), and they had a bunch of different sales on shoes. I went a little shoe crazy when I saw brand name shoes on sale for $10-$20! They had a great selection of shoes, and I ended up buying three pairs. There were already great deals on clearance, and each shoe in the clearance aisle had a sticker with a color that corresponded to another discount. After that discount was applied, there was an extra 20% off all clearance items!

These are the three pairs of shoes that I bought! Some of the styles of colors of shoes that I got are sold out online at DSW, but you can always check in store to see what they have in stock!

Aldo Gweni Ballet Flat- ($70.00) $13.18
TOTAL- $52.70 (including tax)
SAVINGS- $139.86

These are the Kelly & Katie Isabel Patent Pump in the color grey. They have a slight bluish tint to them, which I really love. I purchased a size 6 1/2 in these.

I bought these Kelly & Katie heels for my DECA state competition, which is in March. DECA is a chapter club at my high school that is all about business and marketing. We have to dress up and wear business/work clothes, so I though these heels would be perfect. These were 50% off the clearance price and then an extra 20% off that price. I ended up buying them for $15.98, which is a great deal.

These are the Aldo Gweni Ballet Flats in the color Bone. They are super soft and comfortable, and there is pretty gold detailing on the heel of the shoe and on the tips on the bows. They were 70% off of the clearance price, and then an extra 20% off of that price. I only paid $13.18 for them, which is a steal! I got them in a size 6 1/2.

I also got these shoes for my DECA competition too, so that if my feet are hurting, I can slip on these comfortable flats. They are still sophisticated, and I think I can get a lot of good wear out of them, since they are a neutral color.

These are the Franco Sarto Gustar Flat Sandal in the color Coral Le. I know it's definitely too cold to be wearing sandals anytime soon, but these were on a pretty good discount as well. They were 50% off the clearance price and then an extra 20% off on that price. I paid $19.98 for them, and I got them in a size 6 1/2.

I love the color of these, and I already have a pair of Franco Sarto sandals in a regular leather and silver color (click this link to see them). Franco Sarto sandals are extremely comfortable and well made. They are my favorite brand of leather sandals, and they are very cute!

Thanks for reading! Hopefully you can find some inexpensive shoes on your shopping trip!
